Recording Studio

In truth, recordings took place at the wonderful Opus studios in Grayshott Surrey.
Indeed, the band had arranged the recording sessions with the studio owner Tim Benson.
The sessions were presided over by ace audio engineer Thom Ashworth.
He was enthusiastic and very helpful. The recording stage was a dream process.
Recorded consecutively over a long weekend. It was three whole days and also early night
sessions over a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In fact, the band sped through the recordings,
laying down a live scratch recording and then re-recording the individual parts.

Mixing nightmare

In fact, the mixing, guitar overdubs and re-recorded vocals phase did not go so smoothly.
The recorded stems and basic scratch mixes were taken to Albert Studios, Surrey. (Dave’s personal studio).
And this is when the nightmare began. In truth, plagued with computer problems, audio equipment failures,
BSOD’s and a lot of lost work. This was mostly due to transitioning from 32-bit to 64-bit architecture and software.
Using unstable operating systems (from rock solid Windows 7 32-bit moved over to wildly erratic and unstable Windows 7 64-bit)
and suffering from numerous firewire issues. Frank DeVille (studio engineer) and Dave fought to get the work completed.

Unfortunately,  it was done in both their spare time, as Dave had a full-time job and Frank was often busy with other mixing
and recording projects. It was completed 4 years later at the beginning of 2017 after the band reviewed a number of mixes.
